The Power of Saying Yes: A Personal Story of Alignment, Leadership & Trust

Jun 02, 2025

I’m feeling so energized right now.

I finally found a mentor for my digital product business that I deeply trust. And I didn’t find him by “trying hard” I found him by saying yes to an unexpected invitation and following the thread of alignment.

A few weeks ago, I was invited to a Mother’s Day brunch by a dear friend. I didn’t know anyone else who’d be there, but I trusted her energy and said yes. Last minute, she had to cancel… and I found myself at a table of eight incredible women I’d never met, on my own. But my body had already said go, and I’m so glad I listened.

That brunch ended up being so intentional. So real. Every conversation felt grounded and expansive. And then, Kate Northrup walked in. Someone I had just been watching a few days prior in a reel my friend had sent me. Her presence in real life was just as powerful: raw, real, and wise. She spoke about the nervous system and money in a way that felt like truth. I felt something click.

So I followed her content… joined her newsletter… and in one of her emails, she recommended her coach: James Wedmore. I clicked, skeptically. But the moment his free training began, I was hooked. The way he teaches is generous, integrated, and impactful. He blends mindset, energetics, and strategy, and even ended our first session with a grounding meditation (I mean… how aligned?!).

It feels like I’ve finally found an example of the kind of leader I want to be: authentic, heart-led, generous, abundant, and deeply grounded in purpose.

It’s reminding me: if I want to lead with that energy, I have to show up in it. I have to believe in what I’ve created. Believe in Lumi Courses. Believe in the transformation that’s possible for the people I’m here to serve. Because the more I believe in it, the more I can serve.

And this journey, this rise, gets to feel like me. It gets to be intuitive. Soulful. Integrated.

I had no idea what I was walking into that day at the brunch table, but I’m so glad I said yes. Because what’s unfolding now feels like a new chapter of aligned expansion and I’m ready for it.
